"Let no debt remain, except the continual debt to love one another" ~ Romans 13:8
This principle of always being in debt to love one another has become a competitive game in our family. Not in the form of obnoxious pranks, but rather sweet surprises! Each week my kids and I plan "Glo4God Goals" - one small way to be a light for our Family, Friends and Community. It's intentional planning to bless those who matter most. It's living out Romans 13:8.
Last week, my sweet 7 year old hid Love Notes all over the house. "You are the best;" "We have so much fun together" and "You make everything better" were a few of her sentiments.
This week my Glo4God Goal for "Family" will be to write and hide each person in the house a Love Note. But the Homeschool Mom in me can't resist upping the game by adding in an educational aspect: each Love Note will be written in a different type of Poem: Haiku, Limerick, Ode, etc... After each person finds and reads his or her Love Note we will share and discuss poetry types!
The World System tries to enslave us to debt, luring you in then charging extortionary interest and taxes that keep many slave to a heavy financial burden. The goal is to repay the debt and stay out from then on! Debt Free is the way to be - financially speaking.
But spiritual debt? None of us could ever pay Jesus back for the invaluable love He showed on the cross, let alone the countless ways He reminds us of that love as we daily walk with Him. Although I will always be in spiritual debt to Jesus, His payment plan of love actually frees me from sin and death, and yields me a return on my investment - dividends of love!
Today, make a debt payment to God. Plan to bless your family with a Love Note, maybe even write one to Jesus, thankful that His love is SO great I could never repay it! Together, let's go Glo4God!
