Did you know that a caterpillar actually liquIifies inside the cocoon before emerging as a butterfly? 

We’ve been studying the lifecycle of a butterfly. This is an exciting and memorable science lesson for students of all ages from toddler to teenager. One way to make this simple in classic science experiment even more powerful is to directly link Science in the Bible by sharing with your children this verse:

    

Romans, 12:1-2. Therefore, do not be conformed to the image of this world, but rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

The word transform in Greek is Metamorpho. It’s the root word from which the English word metamorphosis is derived. A frequent term used to describe the change of butterfly undergoes.  

Just like the creepy caterpillar, as we wrap ourself in the protective chrysalis of Gods word, our old form is melted away, and we emerge a beautiful butterfly, soaring to new heights and captivating those who see us with awe, wonder and delight in our Creator, God.
